Supreme Court taps Fortune Pay to enable Online Court Fees Payment

Manila, Philippines — The Supreme Court of the Philippines (SC) announced to the public the acceptance of cashless payments through the Fortune Pay app.

SC signed on Friday, July 23, 2021, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with EasyPay Global EMI Corp. for the integration of its electronic payment channel for the payment of legal fees for small claims cases.

Together with the Supreme Court in its endeavor of digitalizing payment process within the Judiciary, Easypay Global EMI Corp. (Fortune Pay), spearheaded by its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ms. Erica Yang, is integrating its cashless payment system through its Fortune Pay App with all Metropolitan Trial Courts (MeTCs), Municipal Trial Courts in Cities (MTCCs) outside Metropolitan Manila, Municipal Trial Courts (MTCs) in each of the other cities or municipalities, and Municipal Circuit Trial Courts (MCTCs), specifically Small Claims cases, nationwide. Easypay’s President, Mr. Paul Ian Chan signed on behalf of the Company, while the Highest Court was represented by its Court Administrator, Hon. Jose Midas P. Marquez.

The Fortune Pay app will be instrumental in streamlining the court’s current operation in processing digital payments for cases involving Small Claims. Not only does such an innovative move curb the recently rising cases of COVID-19 infection (as such digital form of payment will lessen cash payment in courts) but the same is also aligned with the Supreme Court’s primary aim of “Justice Bilis, not Justice Tiis” as the said contactless payment method shall process payments more efficiently and expeditiously hence creating a seamless judicial process for litigants and personnel of the judiciary alike.

Easypay’s CEO, Ms. Erica Yang, sees the newly forged alliance with the High Court as a “huge technological leap” in the Judiciary’s resolve to serve the public through the use of mobile payment technology.

The Fortune Pay mobile payment application will be rolled out nationwide as the first electronic payment app for Small Claims Courts.
